Anthony’s Neapolitan Pizza opening soon in downtown Tupelo

TUPELO – Roberto Caporuscio carefully turned the pizza on the lip of the wood-fired, 800-degree brick oven, insuring the crust was evenly baked, its toppings perfectly cooked. The pizza, topped with soppressata – an Italian dry salami – buffalo mozzarella, crushed tomatoes and fresh basil, met his exacting standards after a mere 90 seconds.

The oven is made by Stefano Ferrara in Naples, Italy. So what’ makes this oven special? According to the company, the ovens are “built brick by brick, without using any prefabricated concrete slabs, following the old Neapolitan handmade tradition.”
